This article was about the abortion laws of teens. The article was meant to convince readers that parents should be notified before their daughter decides to get an abortion. Currently 34 states require parental consent or notification. For example, Ohio requires parental consent while Oklahoma and Florida only require notification of the procedure. Rutherford Institute is thriving to go state by state, convincing them that a parental notification or consent is needed before an abortion is granted. Opposing sides to this topic argued that parents should only be notified if their daughter faces medical complications or if they are in danger. They alsoargued that a daughter younger than 18's parents should be notified 48 hours prior to the surgery.

I still do not have a solid stand on abortion, especially involving teens. I think my side would change depending on the situaton. In the event of rape i support abortion. This is a very controversial issue and i am undecided. Abortion is a huge part of teen pregnancy because some teens in their situation chose the path of abortion. I think researching more about abortion will help me chose a stance on it and later on more about teen pregnancy. I would like to know more about abortion statistics in teens.

Teen Pregnancy
The number of teens getting pregnant is growing rapidly. I do have a personal experience with this issue. My friend's sister was 18 years old when she gave birth to a little boy. She hid her pregnancy from her family while she was away at college. She is currently not married to the father but he is a big part of the young boy's life. Her friends and family have all come together to help her raise this child. I want to find out some causes of teen pregnancy, what led to the pregnancies, and the results of these situations.
